Classes & Workshops
In addition to mental health counseling, I also offer classes and workshops on a number of topics geared towards promoting positive mental health, well-being, motivation, and improving performance. Classes and workshops can be selected from the topics below, or we can collaborate together to tailor-make course that fits your specific needs.
Course Offerings
Mindfulness in Sports: This workshop teaches the concept of mindfulness in the context of sport, and explains the importance of staying in the present moment during competition (and in life!) Athletes will leave this course with a clear understanding of mindfulness and its benefits, as well as specific tools and exercises they can use on their own and on the court, field, classroom, and in life.
Using Imagery to Enhance Sport Performance: Imagery and visualization are common tools used by athletes at every level and across sports to enhance performance. This session focuses on visualization tools and techniques that athletes can use to promote consistent performance, self-confidence, goal-orientation, and enjoyment in their sport of choice.
Goal Setting: This workshop dives into the research that supports goal setting, how to set clear and reliable SMART goals, and how to keep oneself accountable and track progress towards ones’ goals. At the end of this session, athletes will understand the importance of goal setting, and will have developed the knowledge and skillset necessary to set their own personal goals and hold themselves accountable in achieving them.
Thought Trackers: In this workshop, participants will explore their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors through a cognitive-behavioral model, and learn to identify unhelpful thought patterns and reframe them in a way that promotes mental well-being and maximizes performance. At the end of this session, participants will understand the cognitive-behavioral model and be proficient at identifying and reframing unhelpful thought patterns.
Regulators: This class explores our emotions and the brain biology behind them. At the end of this session, participants will have a greater understanding of their emotions, as well as their causes and effects, and will be equipped with tools and resources to better manage their emotions to maximize performance and enhance social and emotional well-being.
Preparation & Building Routines: This class will explore the physical and mental preparation that is required to perform at a consistently high level, and discusses the importance of routine during competition using real-world examples from professional athletes around the world. By the end of this class, participants will understand the importance of preparation and routine-building across multiple fronts, and will be well on their way to creating their own individualized plan for success.
Mental Mastery: This class combines elements from all of the above workshops to give athletes an overview of a number of mental skills and techniques, including identifying and managing our emotions, thought patterns, and behaviors on court, establishing helpful routines, guided imagery/visualization, mindfulness-based practices, and more. Upon completion of this course, participants will have learned practical tools that they can use on court and off to help feel and perform at their best.
Cost of classes & workshops varies based on size and scope of session, as well as number of participants. Please send me an email or give me a call to collaborate on a project or to schedule a class.
